Exclusion zone around ‘acid’ tanker at Perth harbour

Fumes billowing from a tanker vehicle in the Perth harbour area prompted a major response by the emergency services.
The tanker, which was marked “hydrochloric acid”,was parked near D&R Taylor Contractors in Shore Road. The incident was reported shortly before noon.
A number of police vehicles attended along with an ambulance.
At around 1.15pm two firefighters wearing protective suits approached the tanker.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were investigating the incident and assisted by the police had placed an exclusion cordon around the area.
The cordon was removed and the incident declared over around 1.45pm.
