Blairgowrie man accused of riding off on stolen superbike
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Blairgowrie man has denied stealing a powerful superbike and riding it through the streets without a helmet.
Charlie Palmer is alleged to have taken the blue Yamaha R1, which has a top speed of more than 160mph, from an address in Forneth on August 15.
He is then said to have ridden the bike on the A923 and A94 without wearing protective headgear.
On the same date on the A923, at its junction with Perth Road, he is alleged to have failed to stop for two police officers.
The 21-year-old, of Leslie Street, Blairgowrie, is also said to have ridden on the A923, A94 and elsewhere without insurance and while holding a provisional licence but failing to display L plates.
He will stand trial in December.
