Aberfeldy pool reopens after four-month closure due to leak

A swimming pool in Highland Perthshire reopened today after being closed for months because of a leak.
The problem at the pool at Breadalbane Community Campus in Aberfeldy was discovered in July.
It was initially to be closed for four weeks for repairs to the damaged pool liner but contractors found a more serious problem.
The campus opened its doors to the public in December 2010, when its facilities were described as “second to none”.
The problem was the first major defect found at any of the six state-of-the-art education and community hubs delivered under Perth and Kinross Council’s £136 million Investment in Learning Programme.
All the campuses were constructed and run in conjunction with Axiom Education, which investigated the extent of the leak at the pool.
A spokesman for Live Active Leisure said: “Perth and Kinross Council have informed us that the Breadalbane Community Campus Pool will reopen from Monday November 10.
“We are delighted to welcome the public back from that date with free public swimming.”
