Perth pals are hair to help support mate through cancer treatment

Several Perth pals have had their heads shaved to show solidarity with their good friend Stan Lamb.
The 55-year-old Perth and Kinross Council worker is half-way through a course of chemotherapy, having been diagnosed with follicular non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
He has been left “gobsmacked” by the support from his employers and colleagues, the congregation at the Community Church, staff at Perth Royal Infirmary and Ninewells Hospital and his friends.
Phil Lidstone and Gavin Matthews were the first to be shorn by Campbell Ewen but others will soon follow, including Stan’s son Daniel.
Through the effort “Balding with Stan” they hope to raise significant sums for Cancer Research.
Stan said: “The guys are making a great sacrifice and while it’s all a bit of fun, the more they can raise for a good cause, the better.”
Phil added: “We thought we’d try and raise £500 but having taken just four days to reach that total, we’re hoping to push it even further.”
