In the tunnel moments before a massive Champions League match is where nerves are normally most frayed.
But not if you’re Inchture boy Lewis Anderson.
While some of the world’s top football stars lined up for Tuesday night’s clash between Manchester City and Bayern Munich, Lewis decided his moment in the limelight would not be wasted.
Showing all the tenacity of a true midfield general, he insisted on a high-five from Xabi Alonso prompting a big grin from the Spanish World Cup winner.
Nine-year-old Inchture Primary pupil Lewis won the chance to be a mascot in a competition run by MasterCard and travelled to the game with dad Kevin, mum Gill and brother Matthew.
Describing his big night, Dundee United fan Lewis said: “Walking out on the pitch was brilliant. I was with Mehdi Benatia, who was really nice. I couldn’t believe it when he got sent off.
“I got high-fives from Neuer, Alonso, Boateng, Benatia, Muller but my favourite was Robben, who high-fived me as I came off the pitch.
“I also got a wave from Pepe as I came off the pitch.”
Lewis was also able to share some fascinating insider info.
He added: “Manuel Pellegrini (Man City’s manager) had a very wrinkly hand and Franck Ribery has a very low voice!”
The lad done good.
