A raid on a residential area in Perth in December 2013 uncovered a “highly successful” cannabis cultivation.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that police officers searched Michael Kendall’s home in Murray Place following a tip-off about illegal activity.
They discovered nine healthy plants hidden in his attic, with lighting, heating and feeding systems.
He had apparently been growing the plants for some time, as containers filled with harvested cannabis were discovered around the premises.
Depute fiscal Stuart Richardson said the plants had been in good condition and there was every reason to believe they could have produced cannabis worth an estimated £1,400.
The cannabis found in the containers weighed 89.1g and could have been worth an additional £800.
Kendall, 49, admitted producing cannabis resin between October 12 and December 21 2013.
A not guilty plea to the same charge from Kendall’s partner, Gladys Miller, 42, was accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until February 25 for the preparation of reports, given Kendall’s “limited previous convictions”.
