Stone mason closer to revealing the fruits of her labour

Passers-by intrigued by the tap-tap-tapping coming from behind a screen in Tay Street, Perth, will have their curiosity satisfied by the end of this month.

Local stone mason Gillian Forbes has been hard at work on her latest creation, a carving of the crest of twin town Cognac.

Gillian is responsible for the series of stoneworks along the walkway.

She said, “This was an empty tier which I’ve been preparing.

“I’ve done the actual crest in the workshop and I will fix it on, creating a 3D effect.”
