Runaway bull forces closure of A94 near Coupar Angus

Motorists had to endure waits of up to an hour after a bull escaped from a Perthshire field on Thursday morning.
The animal was seen roaming along the A94 about a quarter of a mile south of Coupar Angus just after 10.50am. Police officers arrived at the scene and closed the road to prevent traffic from getting close to the bull.
After wandering along the A94, both on the road and in fields alongside it, the animal eventually began to make its way back towards the farm it escaped from.
With some encouragement from its owner, who arrived in a 4×4 vehicle, the bull returned to the farm by 11.40am and the road was reopened.
A spokesman for Tayside Police said, “We thank the public for their patience during this time.”
