A Coupar Angus man has appeared at Perth Sheriff Court following an alleged stabbing last week.
Kevin Comiskey (31), of Church Lane, appeared in private on Monday on a petition alleging he attempted to murder another man on December 8 or 9 by stabbing him repeatedly.
Tayside Police earlier confirmed a 30-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after he was found seriously injured in Church Place on Friday night. His condition was not said to be life threatening.
Comiskey was also charged with assaulting a police officer and being in possession of the class C drug diazepam.
He made no plea or declaration and his case was continued for further examination and he was remanded in custody.
