More than 1300 children from across Perth and Kinross have come together in perfect harmony.

The youngsters were at Perth Concert Hall for the Day of Song a flagship event designed to enhance their enjoyment of music.

Pupils from primaries four to seven at schools throughout the region spent the morning loosening up their vocal chords while learning four songs, including Mamma Mia.

The morning session was followed by a joyful afternoon performance, where they belted out the numbers alongside a band made up of senior pupils from Perth Grammar School.

Councillor Liz Grant, convener of Perth and Kinross Council’s lifelong learning committee, said the event a huge success.

“The day of song brings pupils from schools throughout Perth and Kinross to enjoy learning and performing music together,” she added.
