A £1 million development at a Perthshire school has been officially opened.
Professor Lesley Yellowlees, vice-principal and head of the College of Science and Engineering at Edinburgh University, cut the ribbon at Kilgraston School to perform the opening ceremony at its new science centre.
It is hoped the facility at the Bridge of Earn school will create a new generation of scientists and provide girls with the opportunity to get ahead in a typically male-dominated industry.
The centre has provided four new laboratories, while the current science area has been transformed into a new sixth form study centre.
