Beautiful Britain judges see pride of Coupar Angus

The efforts made by the volunteers behind Cupar Angus Pride of Place have been scrutinised for the Beautiful Britain contest.
Judges Stan Da Prato and Andrew Hogarth were taken on a tour of the town as well as receiving a short presentation on the enhancements that have been made.
The judging will be followed up by a visit from the panel of the Take a Pride in Perthshire competition on Monday.
Last year the town was one of five Scottish winners of Britain in Bloom.
Since winning the title of best large village from Britain in Bloom, as well as a community award in recognition of their commitment, volunteers from the Pride of Place group have made a concerted effort to ensure Coupar Angus remains on the horticultural map.
Coupar Angus Pride of Place chairman Rona McKinnon said it had been gratifying how local people had got behind their effort.
“I would like to say an enormous thank you to all who support the group and its aims throughout the year,” she said.
