Police release CCTV images in hunt for missing sex offender Mark King

Police searching for a missing sex offender have released CCTV images of where he was last seen.

Mark King was last spotted in Leonard Street, in Perth on July 14. Officers are keen to speak anyone who was in the area of the bus station at around 10.30am that day.

Police believe that the 42-year-old may have got on a bus around that time.

Mr King is described as being six foot tall, of medium build with short brown shaved hair.

When last seen he was wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey jogging bottoms and white trainers. He was also carrying a black camping rucksack and a clear polythene bag.

Detective Inspector Wayne Morrison, senior officer in charge of the enquiry said: “I would like to thank the public throughout Scotland for the positive response we have received so far in relation to this enquiry. We have had a number of potential sightings of Mr King reported to us from across Scotland. These are being are being followed up by officers daily. However, I would still encourage members of the public to have a look at the CCTV images released today and to report any possible sightings of him to us.

“Mr King does not have a permanent address and due to his status, is required by law to register at a police office; however, he has failed to do so. If seen, members of the public are advised not to approach him but to contact the police immediately.”
