The Black Watch Castle and Museum in Perth will launch its own commemorations of the First World War next week.
Monday will mark 100 years since the UK declared war on Germany and to tie in with that the First World War gallery at the museum will be brought to life through opportunities to handle objects, try on a replica uniform and explore items from the archive.
Taking place from 10am to 3pm, a “meet the experts” event will also involve a museum archivist being available to chat about the resources in the collection, and volunteers will be there to give tours of the room or answer questions about the displays.
This event will be followed up at 7pm on Wednesday by a curatorial talk by artist Robin Leishman and archivist Richard McKenzie on the temporary exhibition at the museum, Artist in the Archive.
They worked with the First World War archive of The Black Watch to create new artworks depicting life during the war, which are on display until the end of September.
The Black Watch Castle and Museum will be offering a wide range of opportunities and events to commemorate the war.
