A royal visitor will be swooping into Kinross-shire by boat later this month.
The second Mary Queen of Scots Extravaganza takes place on August 31 at Kirkgate Park in Kinross, to celebrate the rich historical past of Loch Leven.
Organised by the Kinross and District Rotary Club and Kinross-shire Local Events Organisation, the family fun day features a re-enactment of the monarch arriving at the park shore by boat.
She spent several months as a prisoner at Lochleven Castle and Orwell Drama Society will re-enact her escape.
This has also inspired a boat race on the loch. Boats will be provided and entry costs £20 by emailing Barry Davies at barrydavies57@btinternet.com.
Meanwhile Les Amis d’Onno will stage re-enactment shows with horses and combat, alongside displays by the Kinross Pipe Band, Highland dancing, and fencing demonstrations by the Dunfermline Archery Club.
Children can also enjoy activities organised by the Swansacre Playgroup.
The event takes place from 12pm. Further details are available online at www.kleo.org.uk.
