A Perthshire man is facing proceeds of crime action, taken by the Crown at Perth Sheriff Court, for £394,677.
Gavin Blair, 37, of East Leys Farmhouse, Errol, appeared from custody on Monday and will face action under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, pursued by the serious and organised crime unit of the Crown Office in Edinburgh.
Papers lodged with the court show the Crown wishes to pursue £394,677, which represents what it describes as the “benefit of general criminal conduct” by Blair.
The documents reveal Blair bought five cars between 2012-13, varying in price between £16,000 for an Audi A4 and £39,995 for a Range Rover estate car. Court papers show Blair made a loss on three of these cars, with two being sold to Webuyanycar.com.
They also state Blair had “gambling winnings”, with this reaching £34,398 in 2013 and a sum of £26,611 being recorded for 2012 and another sum of £14,341 shown for part of 2013.
In addition, the court papers show Blair bought the property in Errol for £180,000 in August 2011 and another property in Innewan Gardens, Bankfoot, for £155,000 in March 2011.
A procedural hearing has been set for November 10.
