A Tayside sex offender who gave police the slip by telling them he was camping along the Dundee waterfront is being hunted after being missing for a month.
Investigators said they are working closely with agencies across the country in a bid to trace 42-year-old Mark King after he failed to report for registration as a sex offender.
The last confirmed sighting of him was in the area of High Street, Perth, near King Edward Street, on July 14.
It was thought he may have boarded a bus at the city’s station on Leonard Street.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said officers have received a flurry of information from members of the public that was aiding in the investigation.
Mr King is described as being 6ft, of medium build with short brown shaved hair.
When last seen, he was wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey jogging bottoms and white trainers.
He was also carrying a black camping rucksack and a clear polythene bag.
King has more than 20 convictions including five for sexual offences since 2010.
Last year, he was jailed for a total of 642 days after failing to keep police updated of his movements.
Police Scotland have advised members of the public not to approach King but to call 101 immediately if he is spotted.
