A child was taken to hospital on Thursday night after he was involved in an accident with a car outside a Perth school.
The incident happened at around 5.25pm on Viewlands Road, to the front of the main entrance to Perth Academy.
The road was closed off from Fairies Road down to near the school entrance for several hours while police investigated the accident.
Traffic was diverted away from the scene while the officers spoke with local people and potential witnesses.
One woman who lives locally and witnessed the accident said that the injured child was a boy of secondary school age.
She said that he had sustained a head injury but remained conscious while an ambulance crew tended to him.
A police spokesperson declined to give out an age for the injured boy but confirmed that a schoolchild had been taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
“The extent of their injuries is not yet known,” he said.
