VIDEO: Dougie MacLean sings a Caledonia Song for Indy in Perth High Street

Celebrated singer Dougie MacLean took to the streets of Perth to lead the “Yes” campaign in song.
The city was hosting one of a number of “Song for Indy” events and the singalong attracted a large crowd.
The carefully choreographed “flashmob” saw MacLean joined by a cast of local musicians to perform his greatest hit Caledonia for his appreciative audience.
The long-time independence supporter opened by asking the crowd: “Are we going to sing this so they can hear us in Westminster?”
The singers’ voice was joined by that of many Yes campaigners including Perth MP Pete Wishart and local SNP councillor Dave Doogan.
The signs of No campaigners were present on the periphery of the crowd but even shouts of “Lies” from one opponent as the pair whipped up the crowd could do little to spoil the mood.
Mr Wishart said it had been “an emotional afternoon”, while SNP colleague Roseanna Cunningham said Yes had “won Perth High Street”.
