A man has been fined after biting his partner’s face in a drunken argument.
Andrew Nicol admitted assaulting the woman at a flat in Perth’s Oakbank Road on January 10.
The attack left the woman bleeding from the chin, though the city’s sheriff court heard it had left no permanent scarring.
Fiscal depute Jim Eodanable told the court that the 32-year-old had gone for a drink with his brother but returned home later than anticipated. This led to an argument.
He said: “The accused came home from work and asked to borrow £20 to go for a pint.
“The complainer expected the accused to be back for 5.30pm. That didn’t happen and the complainer tried calling his brother to see where he was.”
Nicol’s brother confirmed he was with him, but the woman did not talk to her partner.
He eventually returned at 10pm and an argument broke out which led to him biting the woman.
Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said the couple had resumed their relationship following the incident but have recently split.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher fined Nicol, of Strathmore Street, Perth, £200.
