Ryder Cup fever has taken hold of Scotland.
Some of the world’s finest golfers arrived at Gleneagles to survey the stunning PGA Centenary Course upon which they will do battle.
The world’s media joined them in Perthshire from where they will beam footage of the sport and the region to all corners of the globe.
Ahead of the senior event, thousands descended upon Blairgowrie Golf Club for the Junior Ryder Cup, proving if any proof were needed that golf has truly captured the imagination of a nation.
Some of the world’s best young players strode out in front of packed galleries described as “incredible” by organisers who said the course had a “truly Ryder Cup atmosphere”.
Away from the greens and fairways there was the announcement that fans of all ages will be able to partake of the drama and atmosphere during The Ryder Cup.
Special Fan Zones will begin to take shape in Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh to enable tens of thousands to feel part of the event.
Alongside giant television screens beaming every moment live, each city will be filled with fun golfing events to make the most of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
