Female motorcyclist dies after A9 accident near Pitlochry

A female motorcyclist has died after she was involved in an accident on the A9 just south of Pitlochry.

The woman suffered fatal injuries in the accident which happened at about 6pm on Saturday. No other vehicle was involved.

The road was closed for several hours while accident investigations were carried out and a diversion was put in place through Pitlochry.

The victim, understood to have been in her 30s, was travelling along the A9 south slip road.

Her identity will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
