There was more than the anticipated drama as the Scottish Parachute Club celebrated its 50th birthday on Saturday after an experienced skydiver sustained injuries following his jump.
The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, after landing badly at the club’s home on Strathallan Airfield in Perthshire.
He sustained upper leg and head injuries in the incident.
Chief instructor Kieran Brady, who himself completed 50 skydives on Friday, said the injuries had not been serious.
The club is the oldest parachute club in Britain and the second oldest in the world.
Known commonly as Skydive Strathallan, it trains around 1500 people a year for their first jumps.
