Travellers who have set up an unauthorised encampment on Perth’s Broxden Business Park have been given until the weekend to move on.
Police Scotland has declined to investigate allegations of criminal damage on the site, but Perth and Kinross Council officers have visited the cluster of caravans and been told of the occupants’ plans.
Local residents have been urging elected members to have the caravans removed having grown tired of seeing land on the city’s Western Edge used repeatedly as a temporary campsite.
A spokeswoman for Perth and Kinross Council said: “The council is aware of the unauthorised encampment at Broxden and has been in touch with the group of Gypsy Travellers currently on site.
“We understand the group is due to leave at the weekend.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and will take any necessary steps should they not depart the site as we have been advised is their intention.”
