Edzell couple recreate Brownie-themed wedding day picture 52 years on
ByThe Courier Reporter
Some 52 years on, Hamish and Margaret McLauchlan stand in the doorway of Almondbank Church where they were married in 1962 with a Brownie guard of honour.
The couple, who now live in Edzell, met when Hamish was on national service and Margaret was an assistant librarian at the Sandeman library in Perth.
They returned to Almondbank at the weekend to help the girls of the 1st Almondbank Brownies celebrate the 100th anniversary of the youth movement.
Margaret was a Brownie and eventually became the Perthshire’s group’s Brown Owl.
