A major new outdoor movie festival will make its home in Kinross-shire this summer, attracting hundreds of movie fans to the region.
The Just About Movies (JAM) event will be held over three days in August within the stunning grounds of Tullibole Castle.
Run along the same lines as the nearby T in the Park at Balado, but with multiple cinemas instead of music stages, those attending the over-18s only festival can camp for the weekend.
Visitors will be able to mix with directors, writers, actors and actresses and special effects experts as they watch a carefully curated mix of films.
The event will pull off an instant coup by staging the Scottish premiere of horror film Plan Z, directed by Welsh Bafta winner Stuart Brennan.
The film brought zombies to the streets of Perth, Kinross, Dunfermline and to Tullibole Castle itself during filming earlier this month.
“The JAM festival is a completely new kind of event for movie fans,” said Joe Baillie, one of the organisers behind the event.
“There’s nothing else like it in the UK.
“While there may be other festivals that stage outdoor screenings over a number of days, this is the first time film fans can get together for 72 hours straight, creating the same kind of atmosphere you get at a music festival.”
It is hoped that in years to come the event could attract as many as 1,000 festival-goers.
