A would-be festival-goer headbutted a security guard after being caught sneaking into T in the Park.
Brian Sinclair was seen scaling the fence of the camping area at the Balado site in the early hours.
The 25-year-old was challenged by Stephen Espie, who was working at the event, and became angry when told he was to be ejected from the site. At Perth Sheriff Court on Monday, Sinclair admitted headbutting Mr Espie on July 14 last year.
Solicitor Lucy Durie, defending, said Sinclair had been drinking with friends when they decided to go to the festival and try to buy tickets outside the venue.
However they were unsuccessful and Sinclair made a “silly decision” to sneak into the site.
Ms Durie said: “He regrets that decision. He felt they (security) were being slightly heavy-handed with him. He spent the night in the cells, having never been in cells before.
“It’s a taste of something he never wants to experience again.”
She said Sinclair had lost his job at Rosyth dockyard at Christmas and was in a position to undertake unpaid work.
Sheriff Fiona Tait ordered Sinclair, of Crambeth Place, Kelty, to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the next three months.
