A mother shouted homophobic remarks and hit her son at a family party, Perth Sheriff Court has heard.
Mother of 10 Emma Green directed a tirade of abuse at him despite the presence of police officers.
They had arrived at the party in Kinross after it descended into a brawl and were speaking to Scott Green when his mother came out of her home.
She strode up to Mr Green and punched him in the head before launching into a torrent of abuse.
Green, 37, of Ross Street in Kinross, admitted assaulting her eldest son on December 8 2012 by punching him on the head while shouting homophobic remarks.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis commented: “This was an inter-familial assault. Had you not been so stupid as to punch your son while he was being held by police officers, nine times out of 10 this would not have seen the light of day.
He added “You simply cannot act in this way” as he fined Green £200 and ordered her to pay her son £100 in compensation.
