A pair of Dundee United supporters are to miss their team’s Scottish Cup final after appearing in court charged with behaving in a manner likely to incite public disorder.
John Anderson, 23, and Grant Burns, 24, appeared separately at Perth Sheriff Court after being arrested in the wake of Dundee United’s victory over Rangers on Saturday.
Both denied the charges against them and were granted bail.
The bail conditions ban both of them from attending any game where Dundee United are playing, with an additional condition for Burns banning him from any match involving city rivals Dundee.
On April 12 at the Glendevon Hotel, Auchterarder, Burns, of Gullane Road, Dundee, is alleged to have behaved in a manner likely to incite public disorder by repeatedly shouting, swearing and refusing to wear clothing on the top half of his body.
He is also said to have acted aggressively, chanted football songs and repeatedly refused to desist from his behaviour.
Thereafter he is alleged to have continued shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner on Auchterarder’s High Street, where he then is said to have stood on the road in the path of oncoming traffic.
On the same date, also at the Glendevon Hotel, John Anderson, of Rosefield Street, Dundee, is alleged to have behaved in a manner likely to incite public disorder by repeatedly shouting, swearing, acting aggressively and refusing to leave the hotel.
