Traffic on the A9 is to be slowed to just 10mph while resurfacing work takes place next week.
A half-mile section of road near the Tibbermore Junction, south of Perth, will be affected for three nights, starting on Tuesday.
The £80,000 project will involve repairs to the surface of both northbound lanes, along with refreshment of the road markings, studs, and high-friction surfacing.
A convoy system will be in place between 7.30pm and 6am to protect the workforce.
The project follows £145,000 of similar works carried out further south at Blackford last week.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north east unit representative, said: “These works will repair a number of potholes, which will improve the general condition of the road for motorists.
“We are doing all we can to minimise delays, which is why the work is being carried out at night.
“There may be a few hold-ups and we would urge motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time for travel.”
The company says that drivers can look forward to smoother and safer driving conditions following the completion of the work to resurface the road.
