A private investigator told his ex-wife he had spied on her while she went on a date with another man.
Marzio D’Alessandro, 46, from Crieff, became suspicious after being asked to take care of the couple’s child.
Depute fiscal Stephanie Ross told Perth Sheriff Court: “The complainer had arranged to spend a romantic evening in Edinburgh. The evening had been arranged with another man.
“When she returned the next morning he revealed he had been carrying out surveillance on her.
“Between 3.15pm on March 23 and 5.40pm the complainer received numerous text messages and emails from the accused providing information regarding the alleged surveillance.”
D’Alessandro admitted that between March 23 and 24 he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by pretending to carry out surveillance or instructing surveillance to be carried out … and repeatedly contacted her by text and email.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined D’Alessandro, of Turretbank Road, £800.
