Dangerous chemicals were discovered in the vehicle where a man’s body was found on Sunday.
Emergency services raced to the rural beauty spot in Blairlogie, near Menstrie in Clackmannanshire, following the grim discovery, which was made at around 1.30pm.
Firefighters were among those at the scene but those who had passed the car park before the road was closed said the black estate-type car did not appear to be on fire.
It is understood the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were asked to deal with “hazardous materials” found with the victim.
The body was found in a car park, just off the A91, in the shadow of Dumyat hill.
It is a popular place for walkers to leave their vehicles while exploring the Ochil hills.
All roads leading into Blairlogie were closed for several hours, requiring the diversion of hundreds of vehicles via Tullibody.
Police Scotland confirmed they were not looking to speak to anyone in relation to the death.
A spokesman said: “Police in Forth Valley Division are continuing with their investigation today after a man was found dead within a vehicle at a car park in Blairlogie, Menstrie on Sunday afternoon.
“There appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident, and no other persons are sought in relation to the enquiry.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
