Jail for man who rubbed white pudding in girlfriend’s face

An Alyth man who rubbed white pudding in his partner’s face during an argument has been jailed for six months.
Ian Campbell previously admitted the assault on Jacqueline Coyle with the deep-fried dinner on April 11.
He also admitted punching her in the face and body, wrestling her to the ground and kicking her on her body to her injury.
On the same date he resisted two police officers by flailing his arms to free himself, a charge he also admitted.
Depute fiscal Robbie Brown told the court the 34-year-old had a row with Ms Coyle, which “culminated in him rubbing foodstuffs in her face, which was in fact white pudding from his white pudding supper.”
He then pulled her to the ground before kicking her and throwing her handbag away into a nearby garden.
Billy Somerville, defending, said Ms Coyle had been unwilling to make a statement to the police about the incident, adding that she had been very drunk at the time.
Campbell, of Bank Street, Alyth, admitted attacking his girlfriend on South Street, Rattray, and obstructing the police officers on Glenalmond Place, Rattray, by flailing his arms.
