A £1.1 million upgrade of the A9 between the A824 Aberuthven junction and Dunning north junction has been completed three days ahead of schedule.
The use of the latest techniques helped work to move quickly and the materials used in the new road surfacing will provide increased durability and help to reduce traffic noise.
The Transport Scotland scheme also included a number of safety features. The street lighting system at the A824 junction has been upgraded, with LED lamp fittings installed.
A9 Safety Group chairman Stewart Leggett said: “This investment is part of our long-standing commitment to enhance the safety and performance on the A9 ahead of dualling.
“We expect to spend more than £18m in the next two years further improving the route. This is in addition to our work with partners to improve driver education and enforcement.”
Andy Thompson, from BEAR Scotland, said he was delighted the work had finished early, adding: “We would like to thank the travelling public and local residents for their patience during these works.
“We would also like to compliment Breedon Aggregates for working efficiently to ensure that the scheme could be completed as quickly as possible.”
