River Tay ghillie denies locking wife out of cottage
ByKirsty McIntosh
A ghillie on the River Tay regularly locked his wife out of their tied cottage in the middle of the night, a court has heard.
Stanley Pelc, who works on the Dalguise beat, denies committing a breach of the peace on various dates between 2006 and 2008 by shouting, swearing and forcing Jacqueline Pelc out of the house.
The 53-year-old is also accused of assaulting her by kicking her on a date in 2005, assaulting her with a Wii console in 2006, and assaulting her by grabbing her arms and hair and pulling her down the stairs on December 17 2009.
Mrs Pelc told Perth Sheriff Court that she was thrown out, wearing only her nightclothes, on several occasions and was forced to spend the night sleeping in her car.
On another occasion she said she fled to a homeless shelter in Perth.
She said she did not report the alleged incidents at the time as she was embarrassed.
She denied a suggestion by advocate Bill Adam, defending, that she was exaggerating the extent of the incidents or that she regularly drank to excess.
The case against Pelc, of Dalguise, near Dunkeld, continues.
