The summer season kicks off at Perth Racecourse this week with two top fixtures featuring some of the racing world’s biggest names.
Turnstiles open on Wednesday at noon for the Armed Forces Race Day, which features a top card together with a series of off-track events supported by ABF the Soldiers’ Charity.
There will be pipe band displays, armed vehicle and weapon displays and the 7 Scots recruiting trailer, while Dundee and Angus Army Cadets will be out in force.
The first race will be at 2pm.
Racecourse general manager Sam Morshead said: “We are proud that our Armed Forces Race Day is once again supporting ABF.”
A further five family-friendly meetings take place during July and August, with the first of those following on Thursday.
The Support Your Sport Race Day offers members of the public the chance to rub shoulders with some of the top sportsmen and women and trainers involved in horse racing.
With the racing, there will be a number of events aimed at youngsters, together with question and answer sessions and signings with a number of top jockeys.
