Perthshire pensioner who hit neighbour with walking stick admonished by court

A pensioner who repeatedly walloped a neighbour with her walking stick has been admonished by a court.
Cathie Mustard had previously been told to “stay out of trouble” by Sheriff Michael Fletcher at her last court appearance and, in light of her good behaviour over recent months, the 74-year-old walked free on Wednesday.
Mustard had been embroiled in a long-running battle with John Fair over a parking space outside their homes on Coupar Angus’s George Street, which eventually culminated in the attack.
Following a trial, Mustard was found guilty of the assault on Mr Fair by repeatedly striking him on his body with a walking stick on November 29 2012.
She was also found guilty of assaulting Kim Coram on the same date by punching her in the face and attempting to strike her with the walking stick.
Sheriff Fletcher said that he would admonished Mustard after hearing that she had heeded his words.
He said: “This was in November 2012 and she has been of good behaviour, so it seems the sting has been taken out of the situation at last.”
