Come rain or shine, retro music fans proved they knew how to have a good time at the weekend.
Revellers endured heavy showers during the first day of the Rewind Festival and they were rewarded for their patience when the sun finally broke through on Sunday.
Sadly, it was not to last however, as the typically Scottish weather returned by late afternoon.
More than 30,000 people packed out the grounds of Scone Palace for the open-air 1980s extravaganza which is now in its fourth year.Photo gallery:Rewind Festival Friday campers get into the 80s groove Photo gallery:Saturday at the Rewind Festival (part 1) Photo gallery: Saturday at the Rewind Festival (part 2) Photo gallery: Saturday at the Rewind Festival (part 3) Photo gallery: Sunday at the Rewind Festival (part 1) Photo gallery: Sunday at the Rewind Festival (part 2) Photo gallery: Sunday at the Rewind Festival (part 3)Among those performing was former teen heartthrob and frontman of Haircut 100, Nick Heyward, who proved he still has what it takes as hordes of women waited to get a glimpse of him backstage.
He described the event as a “homecoming” and said Scotland held a special place in his heart.
“I spent much of my time here in the 1980s,” he said.As it happened: The Courier at the Rewind Festival“It has been really exciting to play to the crowd here and the fact that people have been braving the weather is really commendable.”
Heyward praised the team behind Rewind and told The Courier he was enjoying his return to the limelight.
He continued: “It’s quite an undertaking to get together a tour, so it’s nice to take part in events like this where everything is done for you.
“It’s like a ready-made pop concert and I’d happily do this every year.”
The pop star was not the only person willing to make the annual pilgrimage to Perthshire.
Veteran reveller Peter Fyanes enjoyed his third year at Scone and brought along his friend Keith Benson for the first time.
The pair, who hail from Dunfermline, got into the fancy dress spirit of the occasion, donning kilts and tammies, along with patriotic face paint.
Mr Fyanes said: “I had my ticket booked before I even saw the line-up and I’ll be coming back again, no matter who is appearing.”
Meanwhile, having fun was no laughing matter for Perth couple Heather McDonald and Douglas Boag.
They made sure they stood out from the crowd by dressing up as clowns, complete with colourful make-up and wigs.
“This is a great chance for us to let our hair down,” said Ms McDonald.
Highlights of this year’s event included Billy Ocean and a rare appearance from US icons Daryl Hall and John Oates.
