Emergency services were called to the scene at Coralbank Crescent at around 3.15am following reports of a fire in a close at a block of flats. Firefighters from Blairgowrie and Alyth spent more than an hour tackling the flames, using hose reels and breathing apparatus. A spokesman from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Seven people were rescued and one man was treated by paramedics at the scene.” The fire was brought under control by around 4.40am. A spokesperson from the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they had been called to the scene. He added: “We treated people at the scene but no one was taken to hospital.” The cause of the fire is still unknown.
