RESIDENTS IN a Perth street were left with overflowing bins for more than two weeks after the council forgot to make refuse collections over the festive period.
“The stench was getting really bad and we were becoming concerned about rats too,” one resident said.
The bins were finally emptied within minutes of Perth and Kinross Council being contacted by The Courier.
A spokeswoman said: “Bins at Howard’s Court in Perth were unfortunately not collected as scheduled over the festive holiday. Once the council was advised of the matter we arranged for the bins to be emptied.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may have caused residents.”
