Glasgow man denies colliding with boy at pedestrian crossing
ByThe Courier Reporter
A man has denied knocking over an 11-year-old boy after driving a powerful sports car while high on drugs.
Charles McLachlan (52), of Eccles Street, Springburn, in Glasgow, is alleged to have thrown the child and his bicycle in the air as he ploughed through a red light at a pedestrian crossing in Crook of Devon in September last year.
The charge alleges that the boy crashed into the windscreen of the MR2, injuring himself and damaging the car.
McLachlan was also allegedly found to have the class C drug trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine in his possession.
The case was adjourned for psychiatric reports.
