Closure of Perth HMV store was planned before administration

The Perth branch of HMV was slated for closure before the company fell into administration, it has emerged.
The sudden closure of the St John’s Centre store last week brought with it 10 job losses, despite the firm continuing to trade elsewhere in the country.
But a spokesman for administrators Deloitte said: “There were three stores already in the process of being closed before our appointment and one of them was Perth.
“The decision to close was not taken by the administrators. It would have been a decision made by HMV management.”
