NHS Tayside has temporarily withdrawn drip feed from a company linked to the death of a baby.
The health board has said it stocks supplies from ITH Parma, but did not receive the batch of solution linked to blood poisoning in 18 premature babies in England.
According to the company, the suspected contamination with the bacteria Bacillus cereus has been traced to a “sourced” single raw material ingredient.
An NHS Tayside spokeswoman said: “We would like to reassure parents that NHS Tayside has not received any of the batch of parenteral nutrition supplied by ITH Pharma which has been linked with Bacillus cereus infection in babies in neonatal units in England.
“There have been no cases of Bacillus cereus in the NHS Tayside neonatal unit.”
