Work on installing a controversial average speed camera system on the A9 gets under way next week.
The first phase of the £2.5 million system between Perth and Inverness will begin on March 31. Cameras will be installed at 27 sites along the 112-mile route and the zones will be restricted to seven sections of single carriageway.
A9 Safety Group chairman Stewart Leggett said: “Our public exhibitions on the design of the system from Perth to Inverness have been well-received and we will be holding more of these south of Perth to let people know about the design of the system from there to Dunblane.”
The work will last for approximately 28 weeks and the majority of the work will take place during the day between 8am and 5pm, although some will be carried out overnight from 7.30pm until 6.30am.
