Fire rips through former White Horse Inn hotel in Perth

A fire ripped through an unoccupied Perth hotel in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze at the White Horse Inn in North William Street was reported at around 2.40am and it was discovered that there were fires in the cellar and the attic.
At the height of the fire flames broke through the roof of the building.
Four fire appliances three from Perth and one from Dunkeld attended the scene and the command unit from Dundee was brought through.
Firefighters using hose reels, jets and breathing apparatus and the aerial platform were used in tackling the blaze.
The fire service remained at the scene for several hours with the stop message coming through at 5.40am.
The Scottish Fire Service and Police Scotland confirmed that they were cooperating in a joint investigation into the outbreak.
