A Perthshire picture house celebrated its birthday in style at the weekend, with a western-theme party based around everyone’s favourite baked bean-scoffing cowboys.
The Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy marked the second anniversary of its £1.3 million relaunch with a special showing of the Mel Brooks’ classic comedy Blazing Saddles.
Guests arrived at the birthday bash dressed in full cowboy gear and enjoyed a glass of bubbly and cake before the movie.
There was also a raffle and prizes for the best outfit.
The cinema was brought back to life in April 2013 after a hard-fought campaign by residents.
They were supported by actor Alan Cumming, who is from the area, who recorded a congratulatory video message at the art deco’s centre’s grand opening.
