Perth and Kinross joins in with Festival of Museums

Museums and galleries across Perth and Kinross are getting ready to take part in Scotland’s annual Festival of Museums.
The festival runs from May 15-17 and local events include a gingerbread man-themed puppet show and craft workshop taking place at the Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
A living history event will provide a chance for the whole family to travel back in time at The Black Watch Castle and Museum to meet soldiers and nurses from the Battle of Waterloo and hear their tales of battle.
Joanne Orr, chief executive of Museums Galleries Scotland, said: “The museums have created an outstanding programme of day and evening events that celebrate the area’s culture and history and will help local people experience these great attractions in new and surprising ways.
“With less than two weeks to go, the 2015 Festival of Museums is shaping up to be the best and biggest yet.”
