Perthshire widow’s family hit out at ‘revolving door of carers’
ByRichard Burdge
A Perthshire family have spoken of their shock after it was revealed their frail mother was visited by more than 100 different carers.
The rapid turnover of staff left the dementia-suffering widow “tired and withdrawn” and they felt she had been let down by Perth and Kinross Council.
Her son, Dr Simon Harding, said: “We seem to have a care system which devalues its clients by offering little more than a revolving door of carers.”
He added: “The whole family were appalled and angry when they found out there had been 107 carers. It’s outrageous and we know this is happening to many families.
“I would warn other families to monitor their elderly relatives’ care very closely.”
