Construction crews to start Guildtown housing project

Work is poised to begin at a new housng scheme on the edge of Perth.
Construction firm Stephen’s first unveiled its plans for an expansion of Guildtown village, north of the city, in 2009.
Yesterday, a spokesman for the Perth company confirmed that work is scheduled to start on the first of the 21 properties next month.
Sales manager Tom Buchanan said the homes were aimed at first-time buyers, downsizing couples and growing families. He said it was ideal for Perth commuters.
A planning application was approved by councillors, despite concerns from a small number of residents about possible traffic issues and concerns about local school capacity. The estate at Oakbank will offer a mix of two-to-five bedroom bungalows which should be available to reserve as early as August.
