A 45-year-old man has denied smashing manhole covers to steal copper cable in a Perthshire village.
Patrick Kelly, of Baird Drive, Glasgow, pleaded not guilty to committing the theft on various occasions between August 17 and December 9 at Old A9 at Chapelbank Farm, Blackford.
He also denied that on August 18 at Clattering Farm, Braco, he damaged property belonging to BT Openreach by burning plastic sheathing on telecommunications cables.
Kelly also faced charges that on December 9 at Chapelbank Farm, Blackford, he possessed cable machinery, insulated clothing and a rucksack containing tools that indicated he would commit theft.
